Welcome Round 1 of "Rate these Games". Included below are three games from the NES.
Super Mario Bros (Rating: ---)
Open Spoiler
Super Mario Bros. (γΉγΌγγΌγγͺγͺγγ©γΆγΌγΊ?) is a platform video game developed by Nintendo in late 1985 and published for the Nintendo Entertainment System as a sequel to the 1983 game Mario Bros. In Super Mario Bros., the titular character, Mario, seeks to rescue Princess Toadstool (later renamed Princess Peach) of the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser, king of the Koopas. Mario's younger brother, Luigi, is playable by the second player in the game's multiplayer mode, and assumes the same plot role as Mario.
Contra (Rating: ---)
Open Spoiler Contra (ιζηΎ
?), known as Gryzor in Europe and Oceania, is a 1987 run and gun action game developed and published by Konami originally released as a coin-operated arcade game on February 20, 1987. A home version was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988 (which was localized as Probotector in the PAL region), along with ports for various computer formats, including the MSX2. Several Contra sequels were produced following the original game.
Ninja Gaiden (Rating: ---)
Open Spoiler The first Ninja Gaiden for NES was released in Japan on December 9, 1988, in the United States in March 1989, and in Europe on August 15, 1991. A ninja named Ryu Hayabusa finds a letter by his recently missing father, Ken, telling him to go to America and meet with an archaeologist Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith tells Ryu that two statues hidden by Ryu's father and the doctor have the power to end the world - if united. Ryu ends up in South America and battles Jaquio, an evil cult leader bent on reviving the ancient demon called "Jashin" and the one responsible for the attack on Ken Hayabusa.
The game introduced many of the series' staples, including the cinematic cutscenes, the boomerang-like Windmill Shuriken and the magical techniques called Ninja Arts (or Ninpo). Like all games in the series, it is noted for its difficulty, particularly the infamous Stage 6-2. To use the ninja arts, users had to collect power-ups. Each art used up a certain number of power-ups.
Feel free to rate each game out of 10. If you are not familiar with the game, please do not rate it.

I can only rate Super Mario Bros, so here goes.
This game is all nostalgia. I wish I had an explanation but I guess I can't really say much.
9/10

I'd rate mario but I'd assume I'd be disqualified because of a bias opinion
my rating would be somewhere in the minus range

Super Mario Bros
The game that started a legendary gaming series, gameplay-wise (I know that Mario Started out as Jumpman in Donkey Kong, but the gameplay was substantially different) and has since lead to various spinoffs. Even now, the simple "Pick up & play" appeal sticks, and hasn't been changed much in later revisions of the series. You run, jump, and collect stuff. Seconds to get into, years to master.
My rating - 8/10
Contra
A great little "run & gun" game, which, unfortunately didn't make an appearance in the arcades where I live, and it's damn tricky to find anyone within 50 miles of me that has an NES with this game nowadays. Thank god for emulation, however. My first taste was Contra 3 on the SNES, but the NES game is just as playable, and every bit as hectic. The entire series is, however, notorious for it's high difficulty, and steep learning curve. If you like games that involve running from A to B, blasting everything, whether it moves or not, then this series of games is perfect for you. If you don't like them, however, avoid like the plague.
My Rating - 7/10
Ninja Gaiden
I've never played this, so I can't rate it.
My rating - N/A
